Originally Lambertville was called “West Erie” on June 13, 1834 but the name was changed to Lambertville on January 15, 1836. The city was named for John Lambert, the original owner of the town site.
Lambertville is just minutes from the shores of Lake Erie where the largest walleye and perch producing lake in the world is situated! If snowmobiles, ice skating, skiing or snowboarding is your sport, then you are a short drive to several resorts too.
Sports arenas abound with both college and professional stadiums within easy driving distance. Some of the hometown favorites include Ann Arbor, Lansing and Detroit teams to name a few. And, nearby Toledo, Ohio is home to the world famous “Toledo Mud Hens” baseball team.
