Bowling Green, Ohio
Residential Renovations Serves the Greater Bowling Green Area Residents
Bowling Green is the county seat of Wood County, Ohio, but is part of the Toledo Metropolitan Area. Most notable though, Bowling Green is the home of Bowling Green State University.
Bowling Green was named after Bowling Green, Kentucky by a retired postal worker who had once delivered mail there. Bowling Green quickly experienced a boon to its economy with the discovery of oil in the late 19th and early 20th century. The wealth can still be seen in the downtown storefronts along Wooster and Main Street, where several of the oldest and largest homes were built.
Other highlights of the community activities include: Black Swamp Arts Festival, National Tractor Pulling championships, Wood County Fair, and the Annual Winterfest.
Bowling Green also boasts to be the home to Ohio’s first utility-sized wind farm, Scott Hamilton – figure skater, Chris Hoiles – retired Major League Baseball player, John Barnes – science-fiction writer,
Alissa Czisny – figure skater, Paul Pope – alternative comic book writer and artist, Eva Marie Saint – Academy Award-winning actress, Dave Wottle – runner and 1972 Olympic gold medalist, and Cara Zavaleta – reality TV personality and model.
Simply said by the area residents: A great place to live, work and play! There is so much to do in the area from the very first wind farm in the state to parks and trails, art galleries, gardens, golf, bowling, theaters, schoolhouses, museums, and a planetarium for starters!
